Nature can’t tolerate ATV riders

-

Re: “Prudent to keep ATVs out of park,” Letter, March 17.

Cupidity and stupidity are the two words that best describe the off-roaders who claim that damage to watersheds, alpine meadows and such are the handy work of a minority of folks, and that the good old boys never leave ruts or drive through creek beds or alpine meadows.

Well, that so-called minority is trashing the foothills from the 49th parallel north into the boreal forest. The days are long past when one or two trikes plied a few trails. Whether they like it or not, the environment can’t withstand hundreds of machines roaring back and forth. J.D. Round, Brooks
