Atwood Tale lands on Bravo

-

An anticipated adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel The Handmaid’s Tale has landed a Canadian broadcaster.

The 10-episode first season of the Toronto-shot drama will debut on Bravo in a two-hour premiere on April 30, four days after it hits the U.S. streaming service Hulu. The one-hour show will continue to air on subsequent Sundays.

The entire first season will also launch on Bell Media’s video streaming service Crave TV this spring, after the airing of the season finale on Bravo.

Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Samira Wiley, Max Minghella and Alexis Bledel are among the stars of the series. The story is set in a totalitarian society ruled by a fundamentalist regime that treats women as property of the state.

GLEE STAR JOINS GREY’S

Matthew Morrison is joining the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, Entertainment Weekly confirmed, most likely as Jo’s scary husband.

Photos on social media on Friday showed Morrison filming a scene with Grey’s regular Justin Chambers on location in Los Angeles. Chambers plays Dr. Alex Karev, who’s intimately involved with Jo Wilson, played by Camilla Luddington.

That same day Morrison said on Instagram he’s playing a character named Dr. Paul Stadler, but didn’t say for what show. Grey’s Anatomy airs on ABC and CTV.

AHS STARS TALK TRUMP RUMOURS

The cast of American Horror Story is opening up about rumours of a season of the series centred on U.S. President Donald Trump. Series creator Ryan Murphy told Andy Cohen last month the seventh season of the FX drama would focus on the presidential election and mentioned the possibility of a Trump character.

When asked ahead of Sunday’s AHS event at the Paley Center in Los Angeles, Sarah Paulson said a Trump-themed season doesn’t fit what the show has done so far, but “anything is possible if it’s what the audience craves.”
