RIVERVIEW CUSTOM HOMES HONOURED
The trophy for top small-volume builder in the Calgary area has returned to Riverview Custom Homes.
The company received the Builder of Merit title at this year’s BILD (Building Industry Land Development) Calgary Region SAM (Sales and Marketing) Awards, announced during a gala event at the Telus Convention Centre on April 8. These awards, featuring trophies with the image of a bird, shine a light on the top performances in home design, sales, marketing, community development, and renovation in the Calgary area.
Builder of Merit is one of five Grand SAM Awards, the highest honours in the competition. The others went to Albi Luxury by Brookfield Residential for Builder of the Year; Hopewell Residential for Multi-Family Builder of the Year; Renova Luxury Renovations for Renovator of the Year; and Timber Tech Truss for Partner of the Year.
For Riverview, which built 12 homes last year, this is the second Builder of Merit banner, following a win at the 2014 awards.
“I was confident we would come in strong this year considering the calibre of homes we’ve produced and was thrilled that the homes we submitted were finalists in three categories,” says owner Chris York.
“Winning Builder of Merit is a true honour,” he adds. “We were up against some strong competitors.”
Along with the Grand SAM, Riverview won two of the three design categories for homes priced $1 million or higher.
The builder’s Infinity submission earned Best New Home $1.5 million to $2,299,999, and its Belvedere entry won for Best New Home $2.3 million and Over. Riverview’s entry, dubbed Evolution, was a finalist for Best New Home $1 million to $1,499,999.
“Riverview builds cutting-edge designs that are unique in this city,” York says. “I think the judges were able to see a collaboration of stunning architecture, tasteful and elegant interior/exterior design, and quality craftsmanship.
“All three homes we were nominated for were amazing in their own way,” he adds. “I’m proud of all of them, and it was a great experience working with each of the homes’ clients to create them.”
