Let’s go bananas at our schools

-

Let’s start a banana bread club in every school. Students who eat it need to feel safe and included. Some kids have never tried it, and don’t even know what it is.

They need to be educated. Parents who want to be included can pay for the bananas. Club members can exchange recipes — there are many different ways to make and eat it. Students need to be encouraged not always eat it the same way.

They can march wearing banana suits, peeling them off as they go. They can give out little plastic bananas, show videos of various types of bananas, integrate bananas into all parts of the school curriculum.

The top banana, Education Minister David Eggen, please consider. Donna Eliason, Calgary
