Clean sweep needed at Calgary city hall

Re: City takes $23.7M in tax room, then gives it back, April 11

So city council has laid the groundwork for a tax increase conveniently just after the election! How surprising!

I believe the job of councillor includes budget planning and sincere attempts to minimize roller-coaster taxation. Finding lost money one year and threats of budget shortfalls requiring increases in taxation the next year seem to be standard practices for this council.

Voters, we need to free ourselves from this group. Let’s elect a council and mayor in October who have the best interests of us and the city in mind!
