RAMADAN TERROR AS ISIL BOMBERS BLAST BAGHDAD ICE-CREAM SHOP

- The Telegraph

Suicide bombers from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) killed at least 27 people in Baghdad when they struck a popular icecream shop and one of the city’s main bridges.

A jihadist driving an explosive-laden car blew up the al-Faqma ice cream parlour late on Monday, killing 16 people as they prepared for their next day of fasting for Ramadan. Several children were among the dead and images from the scene showed blood and ice cream on the pavement in Baghdad’s central Karrada district.

Hours later, a second car bomb killed 11 people on the al-Shuhada bridge, one of the main crossings over the Tigris River. About 115 people were also wounded in the bombings, many of them with grievous injuries.
