What a difference a year can make. Sure, the economy is still struggling and we all fret the future. But if you frame it in the context of the Calgary Stampede, 2017 was a great year. Last year saw the wettest Stampede in decades and this year saw record heat. And hot would describe myriad events your faithful social scribe had the pleasure of attending and covering. That the majority of the events featured a charitable component speaks volumes as to the wisdom — and generosity — of those hosting and attending said events.
Enjoy this look at just some of the fetes that took place during Stampede 2017. It’s time to put the boots and western wear in the back of the closet for another year. Giddy up — and out.
