Police seek four in scam involving credit cards

Calgary police are appealing to the public for help with finding four people wanted in an operation that targeted credit card fraud.

Police said an investigat­ion called Operation Crushed was launched in May, focusing on fraudulent credit card spending in Calgary.

“Investigat­ors in the Cyber Investigat­ions Team (CIT) worked closely with other areas of the service, retail stores, and with payment card providers to identify potential frauds, collect evidence and lay charges,” police said in a news release.

“To date, four files have been investigat­ed and 19 charges have been laid against four individual­s.”

Four people are facing charges and are wanted on warrants.

Dmitir Barbu, 36, of Calgary has been charged with 13 counts of unlawfully using credit card data. He is described as Caucasian, 5’10” tall and 180 pounds with brown eyes, brown hair and a beard.

Kirill Bardine, 31, of Calgary has been charged with two counts of unlawfully using credit card data and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. He is described as Caucasian, 180 pounds, 5’9” tall, with blond hair and hazel eyes.

Andrei Anatolyevi­ch Bykovets, 35, of Calgary has been charged with two counts of unlawfully using credit card data. He is described as Caucasian, 175 pounds, 5’9” tall, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Ilya Olegovych Zianchurin, 27, has been charged with one count of unlawfully using credit card data. He is described as Caucasian, 5’9” tall, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
