Single-family home boasts airy atmosphere in north Calgary’s Livingston community
One of the benefits of an openconcept is that quality time with family can happen without everyone being in the same room.
Walls don’t get in the way of conversations, views, and the distribution of sunshine across the main floor’s most-used spaces.

Part of what gives the back end of the main floor an open an dairy feeling is that stairs are found up front.
Rather than joining the home’s primary social spaces, a horizontal staircase with access points to the developed basement and second level, respectively, on either side, is just off the front foyer.
Not only is this useful for opening other parts of the layout, but it provides architectural interest, as well.

The community is one of the first in Calgary approved under the current municipal development plan. This helped make it possible for a major activity centre and urban corridor along Centre Street to be included in the community plan.
