Heartland opens new show homes in Cochrane

- JOSH SKAPIN

A scenic community on the west end of Cochrane is shining a light on the range of options offered by its builder group, including new show homes of front-drive singlefamily homes.

Heartland by Apex Developments is hosting an event with family-friendly activities, food trucks and live music to celebrate unveiling the latest examples by Pacesetter by Sterling Homes, Excel Homes, Birchwood Properties and Rohit Communities. It starts at noon and will run until 5 p.m. on May 5.

“Heartland’s spring show home grand opening event is a great opportunity for people to view a spectacular lineup of new homes,” says Morgan Gowland, marketing coordinator for Apex. It also showcases the “family-friendly nature to the neighbourhood.”

She singles out Heartland’s wide boulevards and open space, such as its two main parks, one of which features outdoor exercise equipment. There’s “something for everyone,” Gowland adds.

The 99.7-hectare Heartland will build out to 1,455 residential units and five multi-family sites, of which three are built. A commercial site will start construction as early as 2019.

“It’s a great location,” says Gowland. “You’ve got that quick access into Calgary but you’re also close to all of the parks and recreation areas ... and in town, they’ve got some great recreation facilities.”

For single-family show homes, Pacesetter has the Ellis 2 and Denali 4, both located on Morgan Street.

The Ellis 2 is 1,849 square feet and has three bedrooms, and the Denali 4 is 2,197 square feet and has four bedrooms.

They join existing front-drive single-family show homes by Excel, which are its 1,918-square-foot, three-bedroom Edendale II and 2,046-square-foot, four-bedroom Radison. These are on Thoroughbred Boulevard.

The starting price on frontdrive single-family homes is in the $380,000s, including the lot and GST.

There’s also a wide selection of semi-detached homes, a segment that starts from the $310,000s.

Pacesetter is showing its 1,213-square-foot Greystone and 1,421-square-foot Middleton 2, while Excel has the 1,482-squarefoot Jackson and 1,414-squarefoot Harrison. Rohit is showing its 1,460-square-foot Denver, and 1,627-square-foot Hudson models.

Rohit and Birchwood also have townhomes in the community, selling from the $310,000s and $230,000s, respectively. Rohit’s townhomes are street-oriented and do not have condo fees.
