FIRST D’ARCY SHOW HOMES READY FOR A LOOK

- JOSH SKAPIN

People interested in buying a home in Okotoks can now see examples of what the group of builders in the new community of D’Arcy has to offer.

Morrison Homes, Trico Homes, and Pacesetter by Sterling Homes will all have models displayed in the community’s first show home parade opening at noon today.

D’Arcy is the newest community in Okotoks and master-planned by Anthem United, which is the same company behind Calgary’s Nolan Hill, Sage Hill and Belmont as well as Okotoks’ Drake Landing. It’s located on the west side of Northridge Drive and Milligan Drive. Once finished, it’s slated to have 2,200 homes.

D’Arcy’s single-family homes start from the $370,000 range and paired homes started from the low $300,000 range. This includes the lot and GST.

Both segments are of the laned variety.

For laned single-family show homes, Trico Homes is displaying its 1,720-square-foot McK- enzie and 1,788-square-foot Rowan 2, and Pacesetter has the 1,449-square-foot Shelby and 1,614-square-foot Ramsey. Morrison is presenting paired homes with its 1,404-square-foot Arlo model, 1,596-square-foot Easton, 1,604-square-foot Freemont, and the Kirklin at 1,485 square feet.

The community is designed around connectivity, says Anthem United marketing manager Megan Starke. This includes its link to the established D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club.

“We are so fortunate to have a completed amenity in such a young community,” says Starke.

She credits the course as one of the factors leading to 1,000 people registering on the community website for updates.

The current lot release puts homes walking distance from the golf club and a future phase of the community will have lots that back on to it.

D’Arcy’s opening phase will also have two play areas and a skating rink.

“It’s about connections,” says Starke. “Getting out, being active.”

Two future K-9 school sites are earmarked in the community, as well.

D’Arcy is also slated for a mixeduse developed dubbed Gateway Village, located on the northeast end of the community. It will include multi-family development and a commercial complex.

The first stores are expected to open in 2020.

Show homes in the community are open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
