Arrest made in stabbings near Chinook Centre

Calgary police say one person is in custody and three people have been taken to hospital with stab wounds following an incident near Chinook Centre Thursday evening.

Emergency crews responded to the area about 8:40 p.m. and found three people requiring medical assistance. None of the injuries are life-threatenin­g, police said.

Officers believe the incident started in the 5800 block of Macleod Trail S.W., just north of the shopping centre.

It then progressed into the mall’s surface parking lot and parkade, where the suspect was taken into custody.

Officers swept the area to check for the presence of other victims.

A female was arrested and police said they are not looking for any other suspects.
