Live like Marilyn and Joltin’ Joe

- Melissa Hank

Before there was Beyonce and JayZ, there was the celebrity power couple of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio. The actress and baseball player wed in 1954, and were married for nine months before calling it quits.

Now, for a mere US$1,200 a night, you can stay at the New York City apartment they called home. Situated at 511 Lexington Ave. at 48th Street, located in the Lexington Hotel, the room is 600 square feet, with a 200-square-foot private terrace. A living room, dining area and master bedroom fill the space, and memorabilia and photos featuring the couple are scattered throughout.

Previously called The Centerfold, the apartment is now called the Norma Jeane Suite, in honour of Monroe’s given name.
