After several months of jumping through hoops to get the viral sensation to perform during the Calgary Stampede, Yodel Boy Mason Ramsey will be singing his country tunes at Cowboys on June 13 for the Calgary Stampede.

Since announcing Ramsey ’s performance last Friday, Cowboys’ social media accounts and phone lines have been swamped with excited comments.

“He used to yodel outside of a Walmart and got discovered online . . . He’s almost like our next country Justin Bieber. Just a really, really talented boy,” said Scarlet Lee, the vice-president of Cowboys.

Ramsey ’s performance is part of the Friday night party at Cowboys but here’s the kicker: The Yodel Boy is only 11 years-old.

Ramsey will be the youngest person to play at Cowboys, which, according to Lee, added a few more hoops the company had to jump through to get him to perform.

“We are an 18-plus venue but we got approval ahead of time for the short set that he’ll have on stage.”

After internet remixes of Ramsey’s songs began circulating, Cowboys began playing his music in the nightclub, which got a good enough reaction that the Cowboys staff wanted to bring him in for Stampede. “The audiences just love him, especially the younger generation, like the 18- to 25-yearolds, they love him and there’s a lot of people rooting for him,” said Lee.

Since his rise to fame, Ramsey has performed on stages at Coachella and the Grand Ole Opry.

“Mason’s already been discovered, but he’s one that I think has a long and bright future,” said Lee.
