He’s grateful to be living in Alberta

-

Three days ago, I received a kidney from a gent who thoughtfully decided to sign his organ donor card, but who unfortunately passed on as a result of an auto accident.

I thank him and all of the donors of the world. As a result of his kindness and generosity, there are at least two of us who I know will get an opportunity to get back to a normal life.

Finally, I want to thank all the doctors and staff who provided the best care I have ever had at Foothills Medical Centre.

It is truly upsetting when I hear someone criticize our excellent public medical system. If I had not retired to Alberta, I would probably have been dead four years ago.

In the previous place I lived, the treatment plan was to let nature take its course; in other words, only palliative care.
