Politicians exhibit poor judgment

-

I am still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor as a result of two ill-timed and vastly inappropriate comments made by national political figures in the past week or so.

Firstly, although wellintentioned, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland’s tweet instructing Saudi Arabia how to conduct its internal affairs was clearly unprofessional and demeans Canadian efforts in the global arena.

There are better methods of diplomacy. Saudi Arabia, to its credit, has confirmed that it will continue to ship oil to Canada. A clear distinction between business and politics. That’s something our ideological, regulation frenzied Canadian politicians could learn from.

The comment made by federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, suggesting that Canada should refuse Saudi oil, and buy from another country, is shocking.

Like who, Singh? Iran, Iraq, Venezuela or the United States?

What about B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan? Very sad. Douglas Grant Hittel, Calgary
