Women’s wheelchair team wins at worlds
Canada advanced to the women’s quarter-finals at the world wheelchair basketball championships in Hamburg, Germany, Wednesday after posting a 61-52 win over Brazil. The win gave Canada (3-2) third spot in Pool A after preliminary round play. Canada will face China (4-1) in the quarter-finals Thursday. Cindy Ouellet of Quebec City tied for the game high with 26 points against Brazil while adding eight rebounds and five assists. Kady Dandeneau of Pender Island, B.C., came off the bench to add 18 points.
