Cameras could deter rural crime
Re: “When can you use force to protect your property?” Aug. 25.
One solution to thefts from rural properties might be cameras.
A farmer could have a camera contractor come out and assess the situation to install a number of inconspicuous camera lenses at different places on the property.
A lot of the technology today is wireless, and the contractor would know what would be the best arrangement of the lens.
A sign, on the gate post to the property, could advise thieves that the property is camera monitored 24/7.
It’s a farming expense, so it’s tax deductible and theft insurance may cost less.
