Re: “Liberals mull pot bust amnesty,” Jan. 13.

No way should people who have broken the laws of this country be given amnesty.

At the time that they were charged with cannabis possession, it was illegal. They knowingly broke the law.

Just because it will become legal to smoke, grow or carry a certain amount of cannabis in the future, does not mean that those who broke the law in the past should be absolved. What good are our laws if they are continuall­y being broken? People knew the laws before they broke them, and yet they still did it, which just tells me they have no respect for the laws that guide this country.
