Court ruling big hit to economy

-

Re: “Trans Mountain pipeline approval quashed by court,” Herald Online, Aug. 30.

Like many Canadians,

I am shaking my head at one of most devastating court rulings ever — one that will directly impact all future natural resources and infrastructure projects.

Many years of extensive environmental studies were conducted, including with First Nations, before this now publicly owned project was approved.

We can forget much-needed new foreign investments in this industry, as Canada is now just too unfriendly toward business.

Ironically, foreign money was obviously poured in to fund this court challenge.

Other oil-producing countries must be overjoyed with this nonsensical ruling, as a competitor in the industry is facing serious challenges going forward.
