Drunk-driving term far too lenient

-

Re: Drunk driver gets five years for fatal crash, Sept. 5 People seriously need to start demanding more of the province and of Canada on the lack of appropriate jail sentences.

So Alexander Soop had two previous drunk driving convictions and was a disqualified driver. But on the third conviction, his blood alcohol was more than three times the legal limit, he killed a 62-year-old man, badly injured the wife and injured two more people in a second vehicle. But because he said he was sorry, because he tried to kill himself while drinking, and because he had a “tragic” upbringing, he was given only five years.

Please write to your provincial and federal politicians. This has to change.
