World-class events enjoyed affordably

Calgary, you rock! What an amazing weekend and so much on for so little money.

We experienced worldclass horse jumping at Spruce Meadows for four days — an absolute gift to the people of Calgary and surrounding areas. Entry fee $5 which included the afternoon/evening events plus fireworks.

Then there was the Honen’s (piano competition) that takes place over a 10-day period from Aug. 30 to Sept. 8 and culminates in an openair concert in Central Memorial Park with the Kensington Sinfonia with world-class piano players — no cost again. You just sit on your blanket or chair and enjoy. Truly an event not to be missed — absolutely outstanding.
