Fort McMurray SPCA worker charged with animal abuse

A Fort McMurray SPCA employee has been charged with animal abuse, said Wood Buffalo RCMP.

Police received a complaint from a witness regarding the abuse of a dog at the shelter on Aug. 18.

The employee has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigat­ion, the SPCA’s executive director Arianna Johnson said.

Lesleigh Louise Russell, 27, is charged with one count of causing unnecessar­y suffering.
