Fort McMurray SPCA worker charged with animal abuse

A Fort McMurray SPCA employee has been charged with animal abuse, said Wood Buffalo RCMP.

Police received a complaint from a witness regarding the abuse of a dog at the shelter on Aug. 18.

The employee has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, the SPCA’s executive director Arianna Johnson said.

Lesleigh Louise Russell, 27, is charged with one count of causing unnecessary suffering.
