Miller was ‘dead for hours’

Mac Miller was dead for hours before his body was discovered. Reports previously said the rapper, real name Malcolm James McCormick, was pronounced dead at the scene of his Los Angeles home on Sept. 7. Miller died of an apparent overdose at the age of 26. TMZ reports that when Miller’s body was found at about noon, police determined he had died long before they arrived. Friends of the rapper went to his home Sept. 6to hang out, and stayed until the early hours of Sept. 7. The call to the emergency services said the rapper wasn’t breathing and was unresponsive. Miller’s cause of death has not yet been determined, as the coroner is awaiting results from the toxicology report, which will take weeks or even months.
