As adventurous as our palates can be, sometimes we just crave the comfort of “meat and potatoes.”

Bring back (or start) the tradition of a weekend family dinner with these simple and crowdpleasing recipes. You can’t mess with the classics.

Our roast beef and beef gravy is easy to make and delicious. A sirloin tip roast is seared to help lock in the flavour, then slowroasted until tender. Our gravy only uses a small amount of wine; serve the rest with dinner.

Horseradish and potatoes both go well with beef — why not put them together? Our horseradish glazed mashed potatoes add zing to a family favourite.

Sour cream helps to make the mashed potatoes extra rich without tasting too heavy, while the tangy and zippy horseradish glaze adds some interest in every bite.
