More interested in sports than arts

Re: A big win or a big disappointment? Lobby groups split on merits of Games, Sept. 13

People are all suggesting other investments with the money that would go to the Olympic Games if they come to Calgary. Some suggest art, or hospitals or education. Sports is art as well and I prefer to watch someone doing the incredible because they trained hard for it, rather than a blue circle.

If kids get motivated to play sports, it will be good for that generation. Better than computer games all day.

The Games also unite a country, something we can use as well. The people who complain probably have no interest in sports, but I have no interest in arts or any other suggestion and would love to watch sports for two weeks, or even be a volunteer to make it work. Maybe we should not always try to be average, try to stand out, put ourselves on the map.
