Flames getting back to normal

A few days after returning from the O.R.G. NHL China Games in Shenzhen and Beijing, comprised of two pre-season losses to the Boston Bruins, are the Calgary Flames starting to feel like themselves again?

“(The toughest part is) just getting adjusted back to the sleep cycle,” said Flames forward Johnny Gaudreau. “There’s a lot of guys who are waking up at two or three in the morning and needing to sleep during the day.”

Most who made that trip to China climbed back into action on this side of the Pacific Ocean on Saturday night, when the host Flames tripped up the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 at the Saddledome.

“I thought (Saturday) night’s game was pretty good — we were working out the jet-lag a little bit,” said fifth-year Flames forward Sam Bennett. “Everyone, I know, was pretty tired. But we battled through it.”
