Postmedia photographer Hennel honoured by Sports Media Canada
Sports Media Canada released its list of 2018 achievement award winners Tuesday, with the honour for photography going to Postmedia Calgary’s Leah Hennel.
Some of Hennel’s best sports shots this year included images from the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Calgary Stampede rodeo.
Hennel, a photographer/videographer for the Calgary Herald and Sun, also won awards for her work this year from the News Photographers Association of Canada, International News Media Association and Pictures of the Year International.
Sports Media Canada is the Canadian chapter of the non-profit Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive, a worldwide organization that represents 10,000 sports journalists. It created its achievement awards in 1996.
