NDP record does speak for itself

Re: “Notley fighting for all Albertans whose salaries depend on oil,” Opinion, Sept. 21. In response to Energy Minister Marg McCuaig-Boyd, I would suggest that she was right in one statement. The record does indeed speak for itself. Massive carbon taxes imposed so people can get someone to come in and change the light bulbs are not what most conservati­ves would consider taking care of Alberta families.

One has to wonder how many more jobs would have been created had we had a responsibl­e government for the last three years.

And with all due respect to Ms. McCuaig-Boyd, the NDP has absolutely no idea what a UCP government will do as they have yet to form a government. To suggest this is irresponsi­ble, which has been the hallmark of the present government. Unlike the NDP, conservati­ves are unwilling to saddle their children, grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children with crippling debt to buy votes today. Larry Martin, Beiseker
