White preserves Outsiders house

-

Rocker Jack White has donated US$30,000 to preserve the home from cult film The Outsiders. The film property was purchased in 2015 by House of Pain rapper Daniel O’Connor (known as Danny Boy O’Connor), who is hoping to turn the place into a museum. O’Connor has been trying to raise US$75,000 to launch it. The Outsiders, released in 1983, was based on the 1967 comingof-age novel written by S.E. Hinton about two groups of teenagers — the well-to-do Socs and the downtrodden Greasers. The Francis Ford Coppola-directed movie starred Matt Dillon, Rob Lowe, Ralph Macchio, Patrick Swayze, Diane Lane and Tom Cruise.
