Actress launches suit line for women
Bianca Jagger’s ‘powerful’ style inspires Hudgens’ debut collection
Actress Vanessa Hudgens has conjured up Bianca Jagger’s 1970s style for a new line of suits for women.
The Spring Breakers star collaborated with bosses at Suistudio on her debut clothing collection, which features suits and separates for the well-dressed lady.
“I was like a kid in the candy store picking out buttons and fabrics and details,” Hudgens tells Page Six. “Whenever you step into a new pair of shoes, it’s slightly terrifying, but I knew what my vision was.”
Hudgens’ new collection features five complete looks and 15 separates, with the star offering blazers for US$499, pants at $200 and vests for $100, while a full three-piece suit will set you back $799.
She admits Mick Jagger’s exwife, Bianca, was one of her main muses for the line.
“My biggest style inspiration is Bianca Jagger, because she did effortless femininity meets masculinity,” Hudgens explains. “And I think there’s something very powerful about that. The way she presented herself to the world was really elegant, but kind of bada--.”
Hudgens, who is known for the boho-chic outfits she wears to festivals like Coachella, describes her personal style as “eclectic,” noting she loves to wear vintage pieces because she is excited by the idea of “keeping someone’s legacy alive.
“I love exploring all the different angles of who I am as an individual,” she adds. “Some days I’ll be very inspired by Halloween and I’ll dress that part. Other days I’ll want to feel feminine and powerful and I’ll throw on a suit. Sometimes I want to feel bohemian, so I wear a dress. I’m not afraid to try new things.”
Hudgens’ new collection hits the market on Oct. 11.
