LIVING IN HARMONY

New show homes to be unveiled

- JOSH SKAPIN

A lake and golf community just west of Calgary limits is introducing its first new single-family show homes since launching in 2015.

Six new show homes will be unveiled in Harmony in Springbank Saturday at noon. The homes — part of Harmony’s Aspen Collection — are by Baywest Homes, Broadview Homes, and Sterling Homes and located on South Harmony Drive.

Baywest’s are the 2,707-squarefoot Cadence and 2,458 square feet Reed, Sterling’s are the 2,440-square-foot McKinley and 3,038-square-foot Chelsea, and Broadview ’s are the 3,109-squarefoot Mercer and 2,258-square-foot Cypress II.

These homes all have three bedrooms above grade, except for the Chelsea, which has four. Broadview’s Mercer is the only one with a third-storey loft.

The Aspen Collection features single-family homes with either detached or attached garages. Homes with a detached garage can have an optional developed area above the garage, which can be used for a variety of purposes, such as a living space, office or home business.

An event to celebrate the launch will feature noted chefs Paul Rogalski, Duncan Ly, Jinhee Lee and Chopped Chef Canada champion and cookbook author Pierre Lamielle.

“Harmony offers an idyllic community setting, with new show homes, new lots and the ability to get into the community at a price-point that wasn’t previously offered,” says Ryan Hall, vice-president of marketing and communications for Bordeaux Developments. “We expect to see a lot of activity in the community in the coming months.”

Bordeaux is a co-manager with Qualico Communities on the Harmony Development, which at build-out, will be home to about 3,500 residents.

“With the new lots and limited time developer incentives, potential buyers can now build a home in Harmony starting at the (mid$600,000s). This is a price you just don’t hear of in Springbank,” says Cheryl Heilman, director of marketing for Qualico Communities.

“When you live in Harmony, you are a part of something special,” she adds. “You have a Springbank address, spectacular views of the mountains, and your own accesscontrolled lake and beach front.

“It’s an aspirational community,” she adds.

It has also stood out at the Calgary area’s residential awards. Earlier in 2018, Harmony earned its second consecutive Community of the Year Calgary Region title at the BILD (Building Industry and Land Development) Awards. It was also named Community of the Year at the awards announced in 2017.

Among its amenities are two outlets for outdoor recreation. The Mickelson National Golf Club, which flanks Harmony’s east side, is expected to be fully open with 18 holes in 2020. Calgary’s Windmill Golf Group is developing the course with Phil Mickelson Design.

For fun on the water, Harmony has a man-made freshwater lake. Lake lots in the community are slated to be released in spring 2019.
