Create one speed limit of 40 km/h

I agree that speeding in residential neighbourhoods is a problem but I have a simple solution that would be an acceptable compromise.

I propose lowering the speed limit to 40 km/h in residential communities and eliminating all playground and school zones. One speed for all. No more variable speed limits or confusion about when the speed is lowered or what the heck the speed is supposed to be.

It will simplify enforcement, eliminate speed traps and make life safer. Teach our kids to look out for and respect traffic. Teach our drivers to drive responsibly. Steve Komar, Calgary
