Woman killed, three injured in Highway 22 crash

A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision north of Cochrane on Friday.

EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux said paramedics declared an adult female driver deceased at the scene.

Three occupants of another vehicle have been transporte­d to Foothills Medical Centre.

An adult female was taken by ground ambulance in serious condition, and an 11-year-old was transporte­d to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in serious condition, and a 14-year-old in serious condition was flown by air ambulance to the children’s hospital, Brideaux said.

The collision occurred around 1:15 p.m. on Highway 22 near Township Road 274.

Cochrane RCMP detachment was asking drivers to use alternativ­e routes.
