Police say several people are in custody after a standoff with officers on Friday.

The incident started shortly after 9 a.m. when police received calls about a disturbance at home in the 2200 block of 47th Street S.E.

Few details about the nature of the call were available, but officers said there may have been a weapon involved.

Members of the Calgary Police Service and the police tactical team arrived on scene and detained multiple suspects.

A woman could be seen being escorted out of the home by members of the tactical team shortly before noon. Police said the tactical team was called in as a precaution because weapons may have been present at the scene.

A Calgary Police Service spokesman couldn’t confirm if any charges had been laid and no additional information was available as of Friday afternoon.
