Cabbage may not get as much attention as trendier brassicas such as cauliflowe­r or kale, but it can be just as versatile and delicious as its cruciferou­s cousins.

Think salads are just for the summer? Our winter salad with cranberry vinaigrett­e might change your mind. Crisp red cabbage, tender greens, sweet peppers, crunchy pumpkin seeds, and red and green onion are tossed in a sweet cranberry vinaigrett­e. Try replacing some of the mixed baby greens with green cabbage for texture.
