Climate change is global, not regional

Re: Slogans won’t stop global warming. Letter, Oct. 10

In response to Bill Phipps comments about global warming, although I do agree global warming is a concern, a Canadian carbon ‘levy’ is not the answer. First off, stop calling it a levy, it’s a tax, plain and simple.

Notley’s government is using some of the funds from the tax to bolster general revenue, how is that fighting global warming ?

Also, Canada emits 1.6 per cent of the total carbon emitted in the world. As long as you have the major emitters like the U.S. and China on board, why should we be punished?

This is a global issue, not a regional one.
