ISIS-LINKED EXTREMISTS KILL HEALTH WORKER
Islamic State-linked extremists in Nigeria have killed another abducted health worker despite an urgent plea from the International Committee of the Red Cross to spare her life, the global aid organization confirmed on Tuesday.
“It’s utterly devastating that we have to write that sentence,” the ICRC said in a statement, calling the killing “a despicable act of cruelty.”
Nigeria’s government announced the killing late Monday. The 24-year-old Hauwa Mohammed Liman, pictured, had been working as a midwife in a hospital supported by the ICRC.
