Knightley bans Disney movies

-

Keira Knightley has banned her daughter from watching certain Disney movies because she doesn’t like how the princesses are portrayed. The Pirates of the Caribbean star tells talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres she doesn’t let her three-yearold daughter Edie watch specific Disney movies because they don’t send the right message to girls. She has banned the 1950 movie Cinderella “because she waits around for a rich guy to rescue her. Don’t! Rescue yourself, obviously.” And The Little Mermaid is banned, too. “I mean, the songs are great, but do not give your voice up for a man. Hello! But the problem with The Little Mermaid is I love The Little Mermaid. That one’s a little tricky — but I’m keeping to it.”
