CPO ranks among world’s music elite

-

Can it get any better with the arts and music in our city with the most amazing Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Last weekend’s not-to-be-missed concert had Marc-Andre Hamelin playing Ravel on piano with the orchestra, which included eight cellos, eight double basses, at least the same in first and second violins and violas and then a huge wind section. The second half of the program was Saint- Saen’s Organ Symphony with Neil Cockburn on the awesome Carthy organ.

I have never felt so overwhelmed listening to Saint-Saens. I have listened to it in Sydney, Australia, and London, England, and this was truly the most amazing concert. This city has a world-class orchestra!! Brenda Wilt, Calgary
