Re: Same old, same old in Harper book, Letter, Oct. 16 Actually “Right Here Right Now” is a thoughtful and honest perspective on the current political landscape unless viewed through the lens of socialists and/or central Canadian Liberal elites. Attempting to grasp the whys and wherefores of the assumptions relating to the (sad) fact of the Trump presidency should be applauded rather than simply dismissed as the result of a fool and a bigot being elected by fools and bigots. Although I expect that in some circles it is intellectually comforting to refer to nearly 50 per cent of Americans as fools and bigots.
“Hiding the intellectual poverty and self-interest on display” are very clever phrases that could so much more aptly be applied to our current PM. Think about that.

Maybe people are waking up to the damage the left is doing to us all. Right wing leaders are winning at the provincial level across the country. We’ll be joining the party in 7 months as well.
Canada is a nation of losers. Say no more. They can't even read the book and dismiss it outright because, well, it's Stephen Harper and Facebook has told them to hate Stephen Harper. The average Canadian couldn't tell you a single thing about what Harper accomplished in his years in office. Other than the current marijuana hype, you coudn't find a DF Canadian who could name one accomplishment of Turdo either, mainly because he has none. The average DF Canadian can't recall a single "promise" made by Turdo and care little that he has broken every single promise he made. Proportional Representation (thank God), missing women, modest deficits, you name it, he has broke it. And DF Canadians could care less. I am convinced Canadians are much happier when the politicians lie to and steal from the people. As long as they get the soothing platitudes, truth or reality be damned.
I'm just back from a trip to Ontario visiting family. Most of them lean towards the liberal/socialist/something for nothing political way of thinking. They were the primary targets of the media driven Harper Derangement Syndrome promotion and they are still affected by it. It is too bad because they could learn a lot from reading and thinking about what Mr. Harper has to say. He is such an intelligent and insightful person especially when compared to the current Ottawa prime minister Mr. Trudeau/Butts.
