Despite saying she would not watch the première of The Conners, Roseanne Barr appeared on social media shortly after the sitcom aired Tuesday with a measured statement of disappointment.

But on Twitter, she was a whole lot more raw.

Barr released a full statement through her friend Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s Facebook page: “We regret that ABC chose to cancel Roseanne by killing off the Roseanne Conner character,” Barr and Boteach say in the statement attributed to both.

“That it was done through an opioid overdose lent an unnecessary grim and morbid dimension to an otherwise happy family show. This was a choice the network did not have to make.”

Barr was far more direct via Twitter, tweeting “I ain’t dead,” followed by the B-word and four exclamation points.

Nielsen ratings indicate 10.5 million viewers watched the debut episode.
