What’s the point of honorary degrees?
Re: U of C pleased to bestow honorary degree on the Aga Khan, Opinion, Oct. 17
While I could take some issue with Yedlin’s sunny view of the wonders of global citizenship (think Belgium bureaucrats telling us what shape our tomatoes need to be ... etc.), no argument about the apparent good works of the Aga Khan and the success of Canada’s Ismaili population.
I do wonder, however, if we couldn’t find someone who doesn’t already have more than 90 honorary degrees and awards. Are we doing this for him or us? I think I know the answer.
