Calgary police say they are monitoring a house in the 1900 block of 48 Ave S.W. after a woman was severely assaulted.

An AHS spokesperson said they were called around 4:30 a.m. and took a woman in her late 20s for treatment of soft tissue injuries as a result of an assault.

The woman was in serious condition.

Police say people from the house have been taken into custody and sex crimes detectives have been called in to investigate.

A nearby neighbour, Susan, who declined to give her last name, said she went to walk her dogs Friday morning around 6 a.m. and saw police officers at a house.

It wasn’t the first time she’s seen them there, as just a few nights ago she was woken up by a loud fight around midnight.

“I got woken up with screaming and doors banging on a door yelling ‘let me in,’ ” she said.

“I think there’s four, five or six people living in that house. They ’re very disruptive, they’re very noisy and they have really no sense of courtesy or what it means to be a part of a community.”
