Koepka wins, claims golf ’s No. 1 ranking
Brooks Koepka is golf ’s new No. 1 after winning the CJ Cup at Nine Bridges in South Korea on Sunday by four strokes. Koepka, who displaced Dustin Johnson for the world’s top ranking, shot a final-round 8-under 64 for a 21-under total of 267. Koepka, who had never held the top ranking, said “To be No. 1 is something I’ve dreamed of as a kid. I don’t think this one is going to sink in.” Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., the lone Canadian in the field, finished tied for 10th, 11 shots back.
