Three people sought after man confined, stabbed

Victim discovered lying in backyard in life-threatenin­g condition

Calgary police are looking for three people they allege held a man against his will and left him lying in the backyard of a neighbouri­ng house with critical stab wounds.

Officers were called to a home in the 4900 block of 20th Avenue N.W. about 4 p.m. last Friday to reports of a man in his 20s who had been stabbed, and was discovered lying in the backyard of a residence.

He was taken to hospital in lifethreat­ening condition, where he was later upgraded to stable.

Investigat­ors believe the man had been unlawfully confined in a neighbouri­ng residence by three people in what’s thought to be a targeted attack.

However, a motive has yet to be determined.

Police are on the hunt for 22-year-old Nathan William Yautz, of Calgary, in connection with the incident, in which he faces charges of aggravated assault and unlawful confinemen­t.

He’s also wanted on several other criminal warrants, police said.

Yautz is described as a 5-foot-10 white male, 130 lbs., with a slim build, brown eyes and brown hair.

He has tattoos of stars and skulls on his left forearm, a spider web and rose on his left hand and the words “Phoenix Raine” on his chest.

He may also be wearing a red and black Toronto Raptors hoodie and glasses.

Two other suspects, an Indigenous female thought to be about 20, with a slim build and long brown hair, and an unknown male with no descriptio­n, are also being sought.
