RANGERS RECOVER BODIES OF 2 KILLED IN YOSEMITE

-

A Yosemite National Park official says park rangers have recovered the bodies of two people who fell to their deaths from a popular overlook.

Park spokeswoman Jamie Richards said Friday rangers recovered the bodies of a male and a female on Thursday.

Richards said she did not know how the rangers reached the bodies but that they worked several hours in the “challenging area.”

She says officials are investigating when the pair fell and from which part of Taft Point, which is 900 metres above the famed Yosemite Valley floor. The victims have not been identified.

More than 10 people have died this year in Yosemite, some from natural causes and others from falls.
