- NICOLE BERGOT

EDMONTON Joselito Tremocha raced off to tell his wife when he learned from a store clerk that he just won a $1-million Lotto Max jackpot.

But he was so excited, he left the ticket behind.

“When the store clerk told me I won a million dollars it made me jump,” he said in a statement. “I was so shocked and really wanted to get home to tell my wife, so I just left the store. I was already driving down the street when I realized I left a million-dollar ticket at the store.”

Tremocha initially took the ticket to the clerk after checking it on the self-scanner where he “saw a lot of zeros” and needed to have it confirmed.

He and his wife have always dreamed of taking off on a family vacation, so that’s topping his spending list right now.

“My wife and I would like to take our daughter to Disney World,” said Tremocha.

Tremocha bought the winning ticket when he was heading through Ardrossan and stopped a the 7-Eleven at 22305 Highway 16 East. He won his prize on one of the 28 Maxmillions draws Sept. 28.
