FABERGE EGG FOR A ROLLS-ROYCE

-

You’ve really got to hand it to Rolls-Royce: when it comes to the company’s “special customers,” money, clearly, is no object and exclusivity is paramount. One can only imagine, then, how much the oneof-a-kind Spirit of Ecstasy Faberge Egg will have set back its new owner. The House of Faberge’s legendary bejewelled creations are among the most sought-after items on the planet for collectors. And the value? Hideous, obviously. The S-of-E herself is entirely hand-sculpted from frosted rock crystal, while the egg “rests on an engine-turned, hand-engraved, purple enamel guilloche base of 18-karat white gold.” If all that sounds a little too everyday, the rose-gold vanes, inside which the Spirit of Ecstasy nestles, are further embellished with round white diamonds certified at almost 10 carats apiece. Standing 16 centimetres tall, the latest Imperial Egg weighs just 400 grams.
