Stop calling this A Calgary Olympics

-

Does Eddie the Eagle know that his ski jumping event, along with some other ski events will not be held in Calgary? How can the Olympics be called Calgary’s when Calgarians can’t get to the events in Whistler and get back home in one day?

An even more important aspect of this division of events is that one of the major aims of the modern Olympics is to bring the youth of the world together in sport to build peace. How will they all come together if they are spread out all over the map?

This is definitely not the wonderful feel-good Olympics of 1988! We should not support this imposter of Olympics for many reasons, but particularly for this reason — that they are not Calgary’s Olympics.
